We are from Louisiana, where December can be either 70F or 35F depending on what Louisiana feels like doing and the closest we get to snow is opening the freezer. About an hour after our plane landed in Montreal, a blizzard came into town and the snow came up to our knees. Fun fact: snow is much wetter than I thought it would be.

We stayed at Hotel Nelligan and tried poutine for the first time. We saw Mystere by Cirque du Soleil. For New Year’s Eve, we dined at Barroco with our first fancy wine flight (which I learned to take my time with).
