We went to Shibuya Crossing today. When you leave the station, you can see the Hachiko statue that commemorates the most loyal dog ever.
Shibuya Crossing is like Times Square in New York. Tons of people, tons of food, and tons of shopping. There was plenty to see here. Chris and I went to two famous shopping malls, Shibuya 109Women’s and 109Men’s. They had many cute stores, but unless you are a stick-thin American, you can’t really do much but look.
We spent the day walking the area and taking pictures, so make sure to look at the pictures for more information.
Sweet Hachiko
Hachikō (1923–1935) was an Akita dog born on a farm near the city of Ōdate, Akita Prefecture, Japan. He is remembered for his remarkable loyalty to his owner, for whom he continued to wait for over nine years following his death.
Shibuya Crossing
Shibuya Crossing is like the Times Square of Tokyo. There are two malls that sit on either side of the crossing, called Shibuya 109. One mall is for men and the other is for women.
Shibuya Crossing
109Men’s and to the left is the women’s mall. The mall had many cute clothes, but they only come in one size–really tiny…
Starbucks
Chocolate Cookie Crumble Frappuccino with White Chocolate Pudding. It was really good, too!
Japanese Clothing
“The fashion that decorates the outside too much has already gotten tired. Hereafter, I want to choose the one that it can be put me it as a genuine intention is seem out. VANQUISH.”
Shibuya Sushi
Conveyor belt sushi! The sushi rolls by on a conveyor belt and you pick up what you want to eat. The sushi is coded by the plates… the colors are prices. Each plate for us cost 120Yen each.
Shibuya Station Grocery
Onigiri! Rice balls stuffed with treats like Umeboshi (pickled plum– it’s really salty).
Food Displays in Shibuya
Yummy food! It is no wonder that Chris and I eat so much here… These displays are EVERYWHERE!
