Nara

Tuesday, June 19th
After leaving Koya-san and our friendly monks, we headed out to Nara, which houses a giant Buddha. The temple was surrounded by more friendly deer, although these were a bit more aggressive and tended to eat maps right out of people’s hands. Nearby vendors sold deer treats to tourists.
After we left Nara, we got on-board the Shinkansen headed to Hakone, the city of hot springs, for a peaceful, relaxing end to our journey. Only, our train never made it…
Typhoon Time
The train had to stop moving in the middle of nowhere. We stayed on the train the entire night.
